AAR 11 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 14
Overall I had a great time... it's mostly due to the company which I was with.... The A5/X7OG, CKD, and FoxHound Ops folks are great. The fields were MUCH too small for the numbers that they had there... Very frustrating to have no where to move, but I was still slinging paint (lots of it...thanks for the extra paint Muddy) with friends and that's what it's all about.

The pistol duels were the highlight of the day for me... (Thanks for letting me use your T8 Bengal) Very fun....

I definitely know what my next investment is....

Sully, one of our new recruits joined us for the fun. I would have liked to have more OCMI members there, but Zulu and his daughter... Deeno, Sully and myself were there to represent. Muddy showed up to give us paint (what an awesome dude... ) and ended up hanging out for a few hours... he didn't play due to a nasty flue he has been fighting and he wants to be in tip top fighting condition for the PB&J event.

I'm sure Deeno will have a much more detailed and in depth AAR as well as some cool (hopefully) video he had taken with his helmet cam.

Overall... Good Times.

It was a great day to play. The weather couldn't have been better. There's not much more I could add to what Viper wrote. The bodies just kept coming no matter how many you'd shoot! Some of those guys really know the field well and are impressive shooters.

Aside from the game itself, we tinkered on some markers, shot the breeze, and I had the chance to meet Sully and Zulu's daughter (she's going to need a call sign soon daddy ). It's always small groups like this where you really get to meet your teammates and see how they work. I've seen Viper run around and mow people down with the DT before, but it was my first chance to watch Zulu do a little stalking in the bush. I also followed Sully around a bit and I think he's going to show us all how to really play paintball if we can convince him to come out more often. Last, but not least, Zulu's daughter impressed me the most. She takes nothing for granted and has an extremely sharp eye. I hate to say it Zulu as I know you're protective, but she's going to be great on point someday. Hopefully she enjoyed the company as much as I did. The quote of the day had to be "conference calling, what's that? Oh you mean 3-way, we've already done that" haha

It was nice seeing some of the Foxhound guys again and meeting some new faces. We should set up a private game with them sometime as I didn't get the chance to shoot any of them

Lastly I got about an hour of footage that's of acceptable quality, but the camera was pointed too low so the all of it is of the ground or people's feet and legs. I have about 3-4 minutes of raw clips that I'll upload tonight and there's a little something of everyone in there. Most of it is looking down, but it should give you an idea of what's to come. I still need to work on the sound a bit too. With the waterproof boot on the mic removed, the sound is awesome except it's picking up too much wind noise and my own voice is pegging the mic. I made sure to include some clips of each in the first minute so you can hear what I'm talking about.

If anybody knows how to relay this message to one of the Foxhound guys (Heaven's messenger or something like that), he said he was having cyclone probs and you can see him ripping in the first 20 seconds of the clips. He might just be shooting too fast and may want to consider lowering the bps (to something safe like 8-10bps) to remove another variable until he gets it sorted out.

Had a great day meeting and playing with you guys and look forward to the next event. As of now, I plan on attending the PB&J scenario, Sunday only. Maybe I'll bring the Krispy Kremes and a few jugs of coffee.

Video links:

Hi res

Low res

I quickly cobbled together a title page (which blinks by way too fast) and the raw clips are pretty boring without being able to see down range or above people's feet/legs, but it will only get better from here on out. I was toying with the idea of mounting a weaver mounted red laser on the cam to use when I'm sitting still trying to capture a moment. In fact I just happen to have one laying around...

That set up takes some really decent video. I'm looking forward to future videos.

How do you think a gun mounted camera would work out? Would the recoil really mess it up? I guess it would also put the camera more in harms way... not that it's not already... but maybe more so.

Also maybe you could mount the mic on the inside upper rim of you mask and put a little foam over it . This way it will not sound as if the mic in in the back of your throat.

Nice video footage though... great job Deeno.
