Scientists believe that alternate universes exist apart from our own.
Parallel but with strange similarities to our own, forming from a decision
in the past that dizzyingly alters the future, these realities are known as
"shards". A traveler from a different shard has arrived and history will
never be the same.
The New Republic of Europe has completed its conquest of the Asian Combine
and has turned its eyes on the Colonies. Ever since the rise of Britain
after the second world war and the subsequent defeat of the supposed "united
states" by the japanese (due to their dizzying advances in technology), the
world seems to be at peace. Now the vestiges of the colonials rally to rebel
against the HRA (Her Majesty's Royal Army) and their continual tread towards
complete world domination. But their plans do not seem as dire as they
appear with the appearence of a newcomer.
Calling himself Kane, he claims to come from a world apart from our own and
is hunting another like himself, simply called Abel. He offers technology to
the ill-equiped colonials, the likes of which haven't been seen in our
world. He believes that things must be set right, and finding Abel is the
key.
Meanwhile in the New Republic, Queen Victoria and her advisors make ready
for war upon the rebel Colonials, in hopes of finally establishing dominion
across the world.
