The Lapco Tiberius STR8 SHOT barrel comes standard with a "bird cage" design flash suppressor... this tip adds a cool and intimidating "mil-sim look" and doubles as a thread protector. I've heard countless tales of players damaging the exposed threads while playing with out a "tip" screwed on.... worry no more.
NOTE: All Lapco Tiberius components will work with the stock Tiberius threaded components.
The 1st thing I noticed was the cool new Lapco logo... love the scorpion and the font!!. Once I looked down the barrel at the notorious Lapco mirror finish, I couldn't wait any longer to give it a try. Changing out the barrels was a complete breeze.... I did however have to remove the ball detents from the stock barrel and put them on the Lapco barrel... not a real big deal, but it would have been nice if the STR8 SHOT came with it's own detents.
Once I had the barrel installed... WOW!! this thing looked AWESOME! Totally mil-sim...... just the way I like it.
After firing a few mags down range I was very impressed. The accuracy was spot on and very consistent..... Now I needed to do a comparison between the Stock barrel and the Lapco STR8 SHOT....
I Set up several 12" targets at 40'.... I used WPN Toxic and Elixir/ PMI Premium / Draxus Blaze paint for my testing.... All 3 brands of paint were roughly .689-.685 bore... the DXS & Elixir was the smallest. The Toxic and PMI were about 6 months old and a bit oblonged and dimpled.
I loaded up several mags, each one with a different brand of paint and shot....
Surprisingly the stock barrel was not too bad. It was fairly accurate, but I did get a lot more wingers and wild shots than compared to the Lapco... which was ball on ball with every brand of paint used.... I also did have two balls break in the Stock barrel and none with the Lapco
Lapco has always been known for producing a great barrel with unsurpassed accuracy, durability, and craftsmanship.... and this really proves that statement is a fact.
The Lapco Tiberius STR8 SHOT is an excellent performance upgrade for your Tiberius TAC-8 or T-9....
NOTE: :Lapco is also offering an threaded APEX Adapter so players can thread an APEX onto their Tiberius markers.... Keep up the great work Lapco!!
