Here is an animation of Urban tactics that are being used in Iraq.
Unfortunatly we do not have the leisure of knocking out a wall when we see fit...
Paintball Application:
There are some paintball applications to the animation above. If you notice that every time the soldiers enter a room they toss a flashbang grenade preceding them. Although an actual flashbang might harm another paintball player we can toss paint grenades in rooms. This would either eliminate the players in the room or cause them to take some kind of cover. This would give the entering players some extra time.
Blowing holes into the side of a paintball structure is never an option. Instead, because most paintball structures do not have a roof, toss the grenade in through that way. Most people inside the building will be covering the doors and windows and not be able to guard that area against such a tactic.
Also notice how each of the soldiers move covering both each other and all of the windows. There is not an uncovered area that the opposing side could attack from without being seen. For those that play in a team format such movements are essential to keep the squad intact when moving through areas in which opposing contact could be made from so many different angels and directions.
The animation also shows a perfect example of how and when smoke should be used. If your local field allows it then be sure to use it when moving through the open spaces between two buildings. The other side can not shoot at accurately what they can not see.
Lastly notice how the squad leaves some members behind to cover their backside. This is a great idea when trying to take over an urban area on a paintball field. The last thing that you want is for the other side to be able to sneak up behind you and eliminate you or even occupy the buildings that you have already worked hard on clearing. Also this gives your attacking squad a safe place to retreat back to if they encounter strong resistance.
These are just some of the many things that can be taken from this animation and applied to the game of paintball.
