The Midland Radio AVP-H5 Ergonomically Designed Headset is a must have for any paintball player that uses a Midland Two-Way Radio.
It is durable, lightweight, and does not get in the way. It has a Push-to-Talk button that clips to wherever you need it and uses a boom style microphone to for you to transmit.
I realize right now that everyone like to use the throat style microphones in paintball. Personally I have tried them and did not like them at all. They were always moving off my larynx when I would move which made transmission impossible. When I picked up my Midland Radios I found these as well and thought I would give them at try. They are the best communication investment that I have made. Because of the way that they wrap around the back of your head they allow you to where them without hindering your mask at all. A buddy of mine is also able to wear glasses with them when he plays. Then there is the boom microphone. It is perfectly sized to fit right under a paintball mask. And when people tell me that boom microphones do not pick up sound as well? I have been deep in some brush behind the opposing side and been able to whisper to my teammates and they have heard me just fine. Also because it uses more a head-set style speaker system you can hear what is going on around you much better than those ear-buds that go in your ear.
If you own a Midland Radio this is a must have.
