Well I finally got one in my hands last night. The amazing X-7 is here. The base weapon looks and feels very capable. Its every thing the A-5 is. Tho the one I played around with was presold I still talkd the store owner into letting me tear it down.
(something I learned from Viper and Snake last weekend). The guts and internals are stock A-5. the ratchet is still the nylon. This troubled me a little, They may have wanted to upgrade from the start if the weapon is going to "perform" as well as expected. The cyclone rotors are however slightly different and it appears to be to the benifit of the paint. It does not look like Lapco's nor OPS gears stocks will fit the X-7 however. Same type back...but 1/8 of an inch farther apart on the spread from top to bottom. Nothing a file wont cure till we produce one I dont think. I do believe Lapco A-5 barrels will fit. Same threaBut the Spec Ops plastic pieces will interfere in some cases. (they will offer like 20 different fronts). The actual Spec Ops stuff was very real looking..from a distance. I saw the way Marines play with paintball guns this weekend and would recommend carriing along some black elec tape to repair the plastic parts in case of emergency. Spec Ops has done a great job making available some very realistic options for the weapon.(available in jan?) Over all I'd have to say its a pretty cool marker.
